Fall is only 16 days away, and that's hard to believe. For us fall means beautiful trees changing colors, pumpkin pies and Thanksgiving. But for our honey bees it means an end to incoming nectar and pollen for months.

Experienced beekeepers know how to get hives ready for winter. But if you are new to beekeeping you may be scratching your head about how much to feed, how to rearrange frames, wrapping hives for winter, how to feed in the winter, ventilation and more! It's confusing.

Fall offers several weeks to feed your bees to help your bees prepare for winter. Bees can quickly consume stored resources during the fall and have nothing left for winter. Why not feed your bees now with our Fall Feeding System. Watch the video below and then order your Burns Bees Feeding System now for fall feeding by clicking here.

Whether you feed your bees in the fall it is essential to feed your bees in the winter. We are once again taking orders NOW for our Winter-Bee-Kind feeding boards for winter. Please place your orders now as we will begin shipping sometime in November when the weather is cooler.  Click here to order now.

Basic Beginners Beekeeping Class Oct. 14th.
We Still Have Openings

Beekeeping is not as easy as people say. Maybe you think you can buy some bees, dump them into a hive, watch a few YouTube videos and everything else is magic. Sorry to pop your bubble but if this is you chances are high that your hive may die. Why not arm yourself with knowledge. Knowledge is powerful and knowing more about how to keep bees will give you an edge to have more success and enjoyment from your new hobby.

Our last class for 2017 still has openings!  It will be held Saturday Oct. 14. Sign up now! Learn from beekeeper, David Burns, who is a Certified Master Beekeeper through the Eastern Apicultural Society of North America.

Christmas Is Only 110 Days Away!
Many people started beekeeping because they received a beehive as a Christmas gift. What a surprise! It's the gift that brings enjoyment, education and even honey. Consider beekeeping as the perfect Christmas gift.

When deciding on which kit is best, starting with two hives always gives the beekeeper a better start. You can balance out your two hives by sharing resources between each hive. If one hive needs a frame of pollen, you can share one from the stronger hive.

If one hive loses their queen and fails to raise a new one, you can share a frame of eggs from the strong hive.  This is our popular selling Freedom Kit. Put this kit under the tree as a gift for that special someone in your life. Really surprise them!
